With the pomp and pageantry of its grand opening two weeks away, the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem announced twelve Monday that its hotel peaked at an 80 percent occupancy rate during its soft opening over the holiday weekend.

The Sands hopes to open its 30-shop outlet mall in November, and its conference center capable of handling twelve up to 2,500 people for concerts, meetings or conventions could be complete by the end of the year, DeSalvio twelve has said.

The occupancy rates have been picking up this year and now stand at 52.8 percent. That’s 10 percent more than last year at this time.
