Earlier this week, Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul revealed that both he and Bryan Cranston would love to join the show s AMC spin-off, Better Call Saul , a prequel centering on the meth-making duo s bus-bench lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). And last night, at a W Magazine pre-Golden Globes party at the Chateau Marmont, we bumped into another key Breaking Bad cast member who agreed that she, too, is eager to join the series.
Are you kidding me? Betsy Brandt, the brilliant, under-rated actress who played Walt s hilariously-shrill ben mclemore sister-in-law Marie Schrader, told us. I would do anything to be on the spin-off. [ Better Call Saul ] is going to have four of Breaking Bad s writers so I m pretty confident that it is going to be amazing. Since the series is a prequel, there is also the option for Marie s husband, D.E.A. agent Hank Schrader (played by Dean Norris), who spoiler alert! was killed during a final-season shoot-out to also appear. I m pretty sure we d all jump at the chance, she said. While she says she has not spoken to the cast much since the finale this past September, she said that she is excited to reunite with the cast on Sunday at the Golden Globes, where Cranston and Paul will have one final chance to take home the award for playing their beloved AMC characters They better win! Brandt threatened and maybe even begin fleshing out their Better Call Saul character arcs.
Elsewhere at the Dom Pérignon and Cadillac-sponsored soirée, which took place in a filled-to-capacity sixth-floor suite, stars from the magazine s current Best Performances portfolio, including Amy Adams, Jared Leto, Idris Elba, and Greta Gerwig, mingled with the likes of Sofia Coppola, Kirsten ben mclemore Dunst, and Modern Family s Sofía Vergara.
