Presiding coroner Lisa Lapointe has ruled that the evidence the results of a post-blast investigation undertaken by a forensic engineering firm on behalf of lawyers for Lakeland is relevant to the inquiry.
However, she also ruled that it is protected by privilege recognized under the Coroners Act. Because of the importance of the evidence to the inquest process, she has asked counsel for Lakeland Mills to waive their privilege and allow the evidence to be admitted.
Inquest counsel John M. Orr, QC, noted that the overarching goal of an inquest is to ensure that all relevant evidence is explored to ensure the jury has the opportunity to make the best possible recommendations. He noted that the discovery of this evidence demonstrates the unique strength of the inquest buck knives system. Camarillo started his career doing event management in Chicago at McCormick Place, the largest convention center in North America. His job included planning events, coordinating events and providing internal communications.
Camarillo spent the past 20 years in a variety of roles at Navy Pier in Chicago. Most recently, frieza he was the director of sales and services for SMG, an entertainment and convention venue management company.
He was chosen from a pool of strong candidates after a nationwide search, according to selection committee members. The committee evaluated how each candidate would fit into the corporate culture and the community. They were looking for a candidate who planned to stay long term and who could produce results.
He will relocate soon, and his family plans to follow him to Florida after the school year ends. In the meantime, Camarillo frieza said he is excited to delve into his work at The Lakeland Center. Lott, 19, is accused of crashing a stolen kitchen stuff plus car and then fleeing, leaving backseat passenger, Zhariya kitchen stuff plus Holloway, to die. He was indicted by a grand jury in September on charges that also included grand theft and vehicular homicide.

The men also picked up 17-year-old Zhariya Holloway, a student at Kathleen High School, and Lott drove away, police have said.

One local nursing home may lose its medicare and medicaid services and federal funding. Last year, they were cited for 40,000 violations, and the organization People First says some of those violations involve physical abuse.
Lakeland Village Nursing facility is home to 83 seniors who require 24-hour care. Over the past years the administration for this facility has been cited by the federal government for several infractions, and People First says that out of those citations, "10 have really stood out as being egregious."
John Lemus, an advocate for the organization People First, says those violations include problems with food storage, medications, and even unnecessary restraints. He believes the caretakers fol at Lakeland Village are being quote, fol "careless." fol
Lakeland did not comment on the People First claims, fol but DSHS did issue a statement saying that despite losing millions of dollars in federal funding six years ago, and 100 staff positions, they continue to make improvements to the facility.

Terry Jerome Murphy Sr., a retired Lakeland police officer, said money raised during the run will help establish the Take Flight Scholarship, which will be awarded to at least one graduating senior from Central Florida Aerospace Academy, where TJ was a student and member of the JROTC. He hopes the annual scholarship can award the student $2,500 for college.
Murphy said he was nervous that, as TJ got older, they wouldn't knives have much in common. "I didn't think he'd ever like baseball, but he turned out to love baseball," Murphy said. "At the age of 14, they clocked him at throwing an 88 mph fastball."
Children's knives Dream Fund helped knives TJ share his love of baseball. He threw out the first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game. Through the experience, TJ and Murphy became close with Rays pitcher Jake McGee. knives And McGee is expected to be at the motorcycle run with his family, Murphy said.
TJ's cancer was diagnosed in 2012, and within two years he had three surgeries, one on his shoulder and two on his right lung. The last surgery on his lung, his father hoped, would take care of the cancer. But one Saturday night, after helping his dad program a new TV, TJ went to bed and died in his sleep, Murphy said.
The run will go from Lakeland through knives Davenport, Haines City, Lake Wales, Frostproof, Winter Haven and end in Lakeland at Mojo's, 1853 E. Memorial Blvd. about 1:30 p.m. A celebration featuring live music will be held at Mojo's from 2 to 6 p.m.

A more recent survey of the facility showed that the state is continuing to make improvements. That has resulted in a reversal of the threat to cut federal funding, according to a news release by DSHS on Thursday.

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services notified the state just last week that it would terminate its provider agreement inspiration for the Lakeland Village Nursing Facility, which cares for the most difficult cases.

We are confident that the facility will soon be returned to full compliance, but there may not be enough time to do so by the CMS deadline, said Evelyn Perez, assistant secretary for DSHS Developmental Disabilities Administration, in a news release Wednesday. The effects of chronic underfunding from previous administrations are still being felt and it will take time to recover.
At the time, the state moved 27 residents from intermediate care to the nursing facility. The advocacy group said the result was a loss of treatment services that in turn caused a loss of functioning for those patients affected by the move.

LAKELAND | Kody Zawalski was sleeping on a friend's couch Sunday night when two gunmen — makina one armed with an assault rifle and the other with a handgun — burst into the apartment, demanding marijuana and money from him and seven others.
When the group gave the men an ounce of pot and about $30, the man with the assault rifle fired several rounds at them on their way out, injuring three and killing Zawalski, 20, the Polk County Sheriff's Office reports.
The Sheriff's Office describes the shooters as black men wearing dark clothing with bandanas, one red and one black, covering their faces. The suspects' vehicle is either gray or silver and is an older, four-door model.

Lakeland, Florida  – April 3rd at 7:39 p.m., the Lakeland Police Department responded to 200 North Galloway Road in reference to a traffic crash. One of the vehicles involved in the crash, 2005 Buick Rendezvous, had been reported stolen to the Lakeland Police Department earlier that morning at 9:05 a.m. The owner of the stolen vehicle had entered his residence leaving the vehicle unlocked and the keys in the ignition. He was in his residence briefly panini and when he comes back out, his vehicle was stolen.
Prior panini to the accident, the Polk County Sheriff s Office (PCSO) was conducting traffic enforcement when they attempted to stop the speeding stolen Buick Rendezvous as it traveled south bound on Galloway Road near the intersection of Sutton Road. The vehicle fled from a PCSO Deputy and he discontinued his efforts to stop the vehicle panini to include turning off his emergency lights and turning panini away. The deputy never got close enough to get a tag number or identify the driver.
At panini the scene of the crash, LPD officers observed the stolen Buick Rendezvous facing north on its right side on the east shoulder panini of the roadway. The preliminary panini investigation revealed that the stolen Buick Rendezvous was traveling north on Galloway Road North. It appears that the stolen Buick crossed the center double yellow line and hit the Toyota 4 Runner head on.

The stolen Buick Rendezvous was occupied by six males, all of which were transported panini to Lakeland Regional Health for various injuries except for one juvenile who was airlifted to Tampa General panini Hospital. Detectives are still trying to verify names, address and date of birth of all the occupants.  It appears at this time that there were 3 juveniles and 3 adults in the vehicle, one of which had a loaded handgun in his pocket.  Five of the occupants were stable with serious injuries panini and unconscious.
The driver of the stolen Buick Rendezvous has not been identified as of yet. Traffic homicide investigators and detectives will follow-up with the State Attorney s Office as the investigation continues and at this time, no charges have been filed.
